INAUGURATION OF WAIRAKA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND ENTERPRENUERSHIP (WITE)
The Busoga Prime Minister Prof. Waswa Balunywa has inaugurated a Board of Directors for WITE and the function was held at the kingdom headquarters.
The Prime Minister expressed and highlighted the enormous task ahead of the new Board. Among the task he mentioned included the putting in place the strategic plan for WITE.
He added that Busoga Kingdom through the Ministry of Education is aiming at transforming the Education strategy from class education to vocational and ICT technologies.
He said Busoga Kingdom shall in future become the suppliers of people with skills e.g plumbers, electricians, ICT eperts etc.
He charged the Board to establish more vocational centres in Busoga and called on private and government schools to offer scholarships to Busoga kingdom to help the unprivileged children.
The Board members who were inaugurated include;

2. Hon. Baliddawa Edward Kafufu - Vice Chairperson
3. Mr. Musana Yusufu Secretary to the Board/Principal of WITE
4. Mr. George Wabene - Member
5. Mr. Wakikwaine Peter - Member
6. Mrs. Lujwala Petronella - Member
7. Mr. Ngoma Muhammed - Member
8. Mr. Muzamilu Menya - Member
The Chairperson of the Board accepted the responsibility and promised to take on the tasks and challenges ahead of them.
The Minister for Education Mrs. Florence Mutyabule urged them to closely work with her Ministry to strengthen the Education program at WITE, increase enrollment, survey WITE land and examine the strategy.
